The
gang came into town to kick off the 2008 practice season this weekend. Having
Cory “The Nasty” Nastazio, TJ “The Loud Mouth” Ellis,
and Aaron Johnson out for a couple days meant keeping the night-life festivities
in-house. This meant having the “cheerleading squad” over for a
pep-rally Friday night to help prep for a big day of riding the following afternoon.
The
boys had an awesome session while I opened up the yard with a big crash and
messed up my tailbone, thus leading to a stretch out session with the cheerleaders.
Once I was feeling up to par and limber I joined back in on the session. As
luck would have it, on my second run I got a nail in my back tire. I took this
hint as maybe I should sit out and pick up pom-poms or the camera.
Congratulations
to Cory on his new reality tv show that he starts filming this week. Cory invited
us out so Reuel and I are heading to Corona to help add more silly faces to
the show, like myself.

Over
the past month or so I’ve been slacking. However, in my defense I was
due for a little vacation from the bike and was finally able to pull it off.
Now don’t get me wrong…a nice little vacation doesn’t mean
I was off resting on a beach as I still had a lot of catching up to do. So now
I’m going to break down the past month with some photos and a little account
of how it all went down.
It
was funny when I was asked during an interview while in Colombia about what
was next on my agenda after returning to Vegas. My response was, “I’m
going to Disneyland!!!” but was totally kidding around. Funny thing is
that I DID end up going to Disneyland and experienced a broken down Space Mountain.
Yeah, very sad to say but they had to wheel our ride back into the station.
I’ve
also had to time put in my fair share on the slopes w/ the board. I am really
excited because now I have another trip planned to go check out the Sobe Free
Ride Comp in Jacksonhaul, WY where I will definitely be polishing up my free-riding
skills. Be ready for the action feed.
New
Years was a little wild. I got to enjoy the festivities in Hollywood with some
friends and boy let me tell you…the lifestyle out there is completely
different than what I am used to here in V-Town.
Christmas
penciled out pretty all right. My dad and I drove out to San Diego to pick up
my mom and brother who were coming back from La Paz, Mexico. We got into town
and made it over to Russell Davis’ Christmas Party; and I have to say
that I was very disappointed that I was not allowed to sit on Santa’s
lap!
After
being let down by Santa, Woodward had their first ever Christmas/New Years “Winter
Camp.” I was invited to go out and ride with the kids. Even with the snow
coming down, the kids were not deterred away from riding and I was able to let
loose my inner-child with the young campers.
The
Chivitas Soccer Team finished their play-offs and had their awards ceremony
at Peter Piper Pizza. I got to hand out the awards and handed out some “John
Hancocks” to the boys on the team. Congrats on your season and looking
forward to hearing from you next season!
